It will be a five days online certificate training programme for the youth covering the following topic to be provided by experts from the field of disaster management:

 

Day 1: Disaster Management concept practices and role of volunteers in building community resilience.

Day 2: Search and rescue as a skill of response process.

Day 3: Demonstrative training on community First aid and related issues.

Day 4: Fire fighting including rescue process and operating fire extinguisher.

Day 5: COVID 19 concurrent pandemic– awareness, prevention, response, vaccination and preparedness for the third wave.

Expected outputs of “Trained Community Volunteers” are:

 

1. Would provide an opportunities for learning and skill building and enabled young people to take a more active and constructive role in society.

2. Develop a sense of responsibility and self-respect among the volunteers

3. Enhance the ability of volunteers to think creatively for generating locally appropriate solutions from existing resources for any disaster.

4. They would work as the liaison between the community level and District Disaster Management Authority to disseminate early warning and response process.

5. May support in the development of Village Disaster Management Plan and can be a member of VDM Committee.

Here, I would like to request Bihar State Disaster Management Authority to provide guidance and support for effective implementation of this programme. It is also requested to provide logo support in the certificates which will be issued to the trained volunteers after the programme.
